The Island Plan Steering Committee invites comments on both the content and the presentation of the document from town boards, Island organizations, and members of the public by the end of September 2009. The Plan will be finalized by the end of the year.
Please provide general comments about the Island Plan here.
Regarding the rather extensive list of recommendations (the multiple 11x17s distributed at the All-island selectboard) - this could be formatted in a more appetizing and interesting way. At present, the format discourages an active engagement with the list, to the detriment of general engagement with the plan as a whole. I recommend breaking the list down into 81/2x11 size, and formatting it with headings and more empty space - and maybe a couple illustrations to make it a bit more palatable...

I have found 6 references to noise, none to airplane noise, especially business jets and jet props. Airplane noise is a growing issue for July and August. What should the Plan recommend concerning this issue?

I find no reference to health. For example, what about the five diseases that ticks may carry? What management should be applied to the deer-mice-tick population to lesson the real threat of tick born diseases?
